The Dutch Cash Book (Kasboekje van Nederland)
Kasboekje van Nederland is a collaboration of Utrecht University and NTR. Through a 6-part television series, a website, and numerous appearances in various media, it has mobilized hundreds of Dutch families to share their financial records with researchers of Utrecht University. The project’s website relates the financial history of the Netherlands and provides access to the episodes of the television series.
Game of the Golden Age (Spel van de Gouden Eeuw)
The Game of the Golden Age (available in Dutch and English in all major game stores) is a serious but fun computer game about the rise of Amsterdam as the world’s leading financial center at the turn of the 17th century. We developed the the game with Monkeybizniz and we also produced teaching materials for secondary schools with De Praktijk.
The Young Academy on Wheels
In 2006 Oscar was one of the organizers of De Jonge Academie on Wheels. We visited secondary schools with a busload of young top scientists to have children find out for themselves what science is and what scientists actually do. We started with eight bus rides in 2007 and 2008 and the project continued until 2012.
