Chemistry

After graduation

Career directions

When you start looking for a suitable job after graduation, you’re confronted by all sorts of questions. What do you really want to do? What are your strengths? What sort of jobs are there, and where can you find news of vacancies? And how should you apply?

To help you answer these questions, you’ll find lots of useful information about making the transition from university to the world of work at the website of Student Services.

Alumni activities

The Department of Chemistry has its own alumni association, called Carolus de Maets, and each of the student societies also has an alumni association: see the alumni pages of the Utrecht Chemistry Club and Proton. Download this flyer (PDF, 1.5Mb) for more details about these associations and their activities (in Dutch).

The Alumni Office of Utrecht University also arranges and supports alumni activities, including the annual University Day, a large-scale event that brings together more than a thousand graduates. The Alumni Office also publishes a quarterly newsletter, Illuster, which contains interesting articles about the University and both famous and less well-known alumni.
