What causes poverty in a society? And what kind of stress do people experience when they suddenly have a lot less money to spend?

How do the social context and the individual influence each other?

We research this from different disciplines, such as sociology, social, health and organisational psychology and cultural anthropology.

Our research field embraces the full breadth of society, from family and work to immigration, and from socio-economic relations and cohesion to social inequality and health. We connect the macro level (of institutions, standards and structures) to the micro level of how people behave.

We study human behaviour in a social environment.
