Animal welfare

The third research line concerns zoo animal welfare, in collaboration with Dutch zoos. Zoos house diverse species and adhere to high welfare standards. However, different species have different welfare requirements and express their appreciation or dislike in species-specific ways. This research addresses the effect of enrichment and husbandry measures.
