Connecting with students

Are you looking for an internship student or a first-timer? Utrecht University encourages its students to undertake internships or final projects with businesses or public-sector organisations. Our students are well-rounded individuals who are able to analyse problems; to think strategically and solutions-focused; and to work in teams. The University’s ambitious teaching-learning climate and unique educational model have, for years, produced good results and high degree completion rates.

As a business, you provide our students with an opportunity to learn more about your organisation by delivering training courses and giving presentations. Exposing students to your organisation will enable you to build name awareness, develop links with students, and, at the same time, prepare them for the job market. Students are particularly interested in training courses and workshops in the areas of:

  • Managing expectations: what to expect on the first day/in the first year of the job at your company?
  • How do I get a job?
  • Personal branding
  • Writing an attractive CV

We will be happy to put you in touch with students (studying a specific subject). We often work with student associations of the University’s programmes. If your organisation is interested, please contact Anne Hamburger.

Internships

Internships are an ideal way for employers and students to meet and get to know each other; they also allow you to bring in young talent without long-term commitment on either side.

If you wish to post openings for multidisciplinary internships, please contact Dennis Fiorenza. Specific internship openings can be posted through the internship coordinators. For more information, see the internship website.

If you are interested in hosting career-oriented events for students and near-graduates, your point of contact will be WASA (Student and Job Market Alignment Working Group). All Dutch universities participate in WASA. WASA members have much knowledge and many contacts within university networks. For more information, please contact the WASA Office (contact person: Jacky Limvers; e-mail address: j.f.limvers@uu.nl).

Starter jobs / part-time student jobs

You are welcome to post starter job and part-time student job opportunities through Campus Recruitment (only in Dutch). Campus Recruitment is a partnership between Utrecht University, Hogeschool Utrecht and Start People.

Proof of enrollment / obtained degrees

For a verification of enrolment periods or obtained degrees, you need the consent of the candidate it concerns. Without an attached consent of the candidate, we cannot provide you the information you require. Please click here if your company wishes to verify an enrolment period and/or obtained degree.

Career Day

Career Day aims to put our students, young alumni and PhD candidates in direct contact with a range of national and international businesses. The event sets out to achieve this aim by hosting workshops, training sessions, corporate presentations, one-to-one conversations, a business fair, and other activities. Career Day is a choice opportunity for your business to get in direct contact with our students.

Career Day is part of UU Career Start, which is held each year around the second week of February. The event features a range of programme-linked career orientation activities, such as classes zooming in on the relationship between theory and (work) practice. The event offers your business the opportunity to get in touch with a specific group of students (from a specific programme, for example). Career Day is aimed at all our students.
