Seismology

We study earthquakes and the Earth's interior at all scales, by extracting information from elastic waves emitted by earthquakes, seismic noise or active sources, recorded at global and regional seismic networks. Our work is  methodological, computational and observational, but also contains elements of interpretation. For example, the Earth models inferred from our seismic data and methods are interpreted in terms of (thermo)dynamics. Using our expertise on wave propagation and inverse problems, we investigate applications in exploration seismology and on radar imaging for near-surface, cryosphere and planetary studies.
