Agreements with publishers about reuse

There are agreements with certain publishers about the reuse of texts in teaching material (non-commercial and to be used within the university only). 

When you reuse material based on the list below, we ask you to place the following notice in the document: Reuse permitted according to agreement with publisher. Always make sure you quote and state your sources correctly.

Conditions may change. The list is regularly updated.

Journal publishers

Digital journal publishers allowing the reuse of material in online course packs (printed or digital), including longer sections:

  • ACS - American Chemical Society
  • Annual Reviews
  • Berghahn Books (journals) (remove when no longer used)
  • BioMedCentral (Open Access) (with mentioning the Creative Commons licence)
  • BioOne
  • BMJ (remove when no longer used)
  • Brill
  • Cambridge University Press (remove when no longer used) 
  • Edinburgh University Press (remove when no longer used)
  • Elsevier Science Journals: Science Direct Online (remove when no longer used)
  • Emerald (remove when no longer used)
  • Informa Healthcare
  • International Press (Boston)
  • Karger
  • Lippincott Williams & Wilkins Inc.
  • Mary Ann Liebert
  • Multi-Science Publishing (only articles published between 2009-2011 may be used)
  • Oxford University Press (journal articles)
  • Paris
  • Project Muse
  • ProQuest PAO I-V (remove when no longer used)
  • Rechtsorde
  • Sage
  • SDU Uitgevers 
  • Springer Journals
  • Taylor & Francis
  • The Scientific World Journal (only articles published between 2009-2011 may be used)
  • Wiley InterScience / John Wiley

Cannot find your publisher in the list? This means that there is no agreement with this publisher. However, inclusions in teaching material that fall within the Easy Access Agreement are permitted. This also applies to the inclusion of material with a Creative Commons license.

E-books

E-book publishers allowing the reuse of material in online course packs (printed or digital), including longer sections:

  • Gale (ECCO)
  • ProQuest (EEBO) (remove when no longer used)
  • Springer e-books (via Springerlink platform)
  • Wiley    
  • Primal Pictures (reuse of images is permitted in presentations / weblecturess)

The following publisher permit the reuse of images in presentation / web lectures:

  • BSL ebooks 
  • McGrawHill - Access Medicine
  • Clinical Key (Elsevier)
  • Thieme MedOne
  • IMAIOS
