Please note: the overview below shows the scholarships available for this programme at Utrecht University only. Since European Governance is a double degree programme, and only the second year will take place at Utrecht University, it is not possible to already apply for a scholarship for your year at Utrecht University at the time of your application for European Governance.
Students of European Governance will be informed about scholarship opportunities and how to apply for their year at Utrecht University during the first year of the programme.
Tuition fee
The tuition fees for the academic year 2023-2024 are €2,314 and €2,530 for the academic year 2024-2025 for full-time students (statutory fee).
Special circumstances
The tuition fee may differ from the fees mentioned above in a few special circumstances:
- You have already obtained a master's degree or a similar degree from a Dutch institution of higher education. There are a few exceptions to this situation; more information is available here.
- You have enrolled for only part of the academic year. Please contact Student Services for more information.
- You have already paid the statutory tuition fee to another institute of higher education in the Netherlands for the same academic year. You may be eligible for a reduction of the tuition fee at Utrecht University. Please contact Student Services for more information.

Tuition fees
The tuition fee for this programme is € 18,332 for the academic year 2023-2024 and € 20,043 for the academic year 2024-2025 (non-EU/EEA institutional fee).
The tuition fee may differ from the fee mentioned above in a few special circumstances*:
- you have Surinamese or Swiss nationality
- you receive a UAF grant (for refugee students in the Netherlands)
- you meet the nationality requirement for a government study grant from DUO
The required tuition fee might differ from the fee mentioned above if you have enrolled for only part of the academic year. Please contact Student Services for more information.
*Please note that these exceptions only apply if you have not already obtained a master's degree or a similar degree from a Dutch institution of higher education after September 1, 1991. There are a few exceptions to this situation; you can find more information here.
