Study programme

You can create your own Master’s programme of 120 European Credits (EC). The components of the programme can be followed in any given order.

Courses

The course part of this programme consists of 15 EC compulsory courses and 12 EC elective courses.

Educational methods

• Research projects:
  Individual research projects chosen by the student and guided by the supervisor (post - doc or advanced PhD student) on a daily basis.
• Writing assignment:
  Individual assignment: literature review or grant proposal guided by staff member.
• Theoretical courses:
  Lectures, tutorials, and group assignments
• Scientific symposium:
  Including lectures and poster presentation of own research
• Electives:
  According to student’s choice: general course, theoretical course, short project in the lab, or extension of minor project.
• Seminars:
  Attend Life Sciences seminars, individual assignment of preparing short abstracts.

Group size

Per year 30 students are admitted to ensure interactive courses. All other parts of the programme consist of individual assignments. Research groups may vary in size between 5 and 20 members.

Examination methods

• Research projects:
  Practical work (60%), report (30%), and presentation (10%) will be graded by the examiner and a second reviewer.
• Writing assignment:
  Will be graded by the examiner and a second reviewer.
• Theoretical course:
  Written test and individual assignment (presentation or report).
• Electives:
  Have different forms of examination depending on the student’s choice of elective.
