Two FFU-related projects receive Incubator Grant for Sustainable Innovation

The Pathways to Sustainability Incubator call has sparked various proposals for a greener future. Nine ideas received grants to develop interdisciplinary collaborations. Two of these projects, Follow the Food and From Lab to Mouth, are related to Future Food Utrecht.

"Follow the Food: Tracing Global Food Systems for Sustainability and Equity"

This project aims to investigate the complexities of the global food system, including issues of sustainability, fairness, and equity. It will utilize a 'Follow the Food' approach to analyze various aspects of food production, processing, trading, and consumption. The project will specifically focus on Geographical Indications (GIs) as a potential solution to address sustainability and equity challenges within the food system, while also considering the possibility of sustainability-washing.

"From Lab to Mouth: Empowering African Households to Embrace Food System Innovations"

This project aims to address the challenge of preparing households in Africa, particularly in countries like Ghana, Benin, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Zambia, to adopt innovations from Living Labs in the food sector. It builds upon the groundwork of Healthy Food Africa, focusing on the adoption of innovations rather than their development.
