Roland Speklé (Nyenrode Business Universiteit) and Frank Verbeeten (U.S.E.) have been awarded the 2014 David Solomons Prize (David Solomons Prize 2014). The prize has been awarded for their article ‘The use of performance measurement systems in the public sector: effects on performance’, which appeared in Management Accounting Research, Volume 25, Issue 2, June 2014, pp 131-146.

The Editorial Board viewed this prize-winning article as making an important contribution to the field of management accounting research. The David Solomons prize was inaugurated in 2001 and is awarded to the best article in the annual volume of Management Accounting Research. The winning article is selected by the Editor following a vote by the Editorial Board members.
