Under supervision of Prof. dr. Appy Sluijs and Prof. dr. Gert-Jan Reichart, I'm developing a new proxy for the reconstruction of past short-term (seasonal/decadal) ocean carbon cycle changes, by measuring the geochemical properties (e.g. carbon/boron isotopes and element/Ca) of individual dinocyst and foraminifera fossils, using laser ablation mass spectrometry techniques. 

This research aims to gain a better understanding of short-term carbon cycle feedback mechanisms in a warming climate.
