Wina Graus is Assistant Professor at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development of Utrecht University since 2010. Her research focusses on energy efficiency and renewable energy, with a main focus on industries and the power sector. Over the years, she led various research projects and supervised several PhD candidates and postdocs. Within the Sustainable Development Master's program, she (co)coordinates the courses Energy Supply Technologies (fossil, renewable and nuclear energy), Tools for Energy & Material Analysis, and the Consultancy Project.
Wina holds an MSc in Energy Technology & Policy from TU Eindhoven (2001) and a PhD degree from Utrecht University (2010) in international comparisons of energy efficiency and GHG emissions of power generation. Prior to her academic tenure, she spent eight years (2002-2010) as a consultant at Ecofys, specializing in benchmarking and best practice studies for energy efficiency in industries, as well as developing long-term scenarios for greenhouse gas emission reduction. Her clients included organizations such as the European Commission, the Dutch government, PBL, RVO, Shell, WWF, and Greenpeace.
