Modeling and evaluation of the impacts of energy efficiency policies, climate protection measures and renewable energy policies in the context of the transformation towards sustainable energy systems. One focus of the work is on the setting and evaluation of the policy frame for energy efficiency, renewables and greenhouse gases in the European context. Another focus of the work is on energy efficiency in the industrial sector and how policy instruments can promote energy efficiency in companies. Methods: Energy demand models (in particular for the industrial sector) including models for demand response and load management, indicator approaches to measure progress in energy efficiency and innovation spurred by the transformation of the energy system, energy policy analysis.
