HAVEN 

HAVEN (Identifying Harms and Critical Windows of Combined Environmental Exposure to Air Pollutants and Heat) is a collaboration between Texas A&M University  and Utrecht University at the intersection of environmental health, epidemiology, toxicology, and policy that aims to assess the contributions of air pollution mixtures and interactions with heat during critical windows of exposure to childhood respiratory health, in particular asthma and lung function. 

Duration: 2026– 2030

 

UBD Policy 

The UBD Policy (Urban Burden of Disease Estimation For Policy Making) project aims to improve the estimation of health impacts and socioeconomic costs and/or benefits of environmental stressors, advance methodological approaches and foster their acceptance as common good practice for urban areas, to help strengthen evidence-based policy making at city, national and EU level. 

Duration: 2023 - 2026

 

CHAMP

The CHAMP (Child Health through Artificial intelligence Models and Predictions) project aims to develop and apply deep learning techniques to extract valuable information on early brain and social-emotional development from already acquired images and videos to predict mental health outcome in children.

Duration: 2023 – 2028

 

EXPANSE 

EXPANSE is a five-year European research project that focusses on the urban exposome and involves 20 academic and non-academic partners located in 14 European countries and the USA. EXPANSE is one of the nine projects that form the European Human Exposome Network.

The PIAMA birth cohort study

PIAMA (Prevention and Incidence of asthma and mite allergy) is a large ongoing population-based birth cohort study with prenatal inclusion in 1995/96 and follow-up continuing until today . The study was designed to study the influence of lifestyle, environmental and genetic factors on the development of asthma and allergies and lung function. Currently also other health outcomes, including cardiometabolic health outcomes are studied.

Duration: 1995 – ongoing
