Thijs Rooimans holds a PhD-position at the Division of Pharmaceutics of the Utrecht Institute for Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS).

His research is focussed on the development of stabilized nanoparticles (mixed micelles) for oral drug delivery of lipophilic compounds.

Thijs received his PharmD in 2016 at Utrecht University. During his studies he has done several internships. Most worthy is his research internship at the Division of Pharmaceutics (Utrecht University) in close collaboration with the University Medical Center Utrecht (UMCU). During this 8 month internship Thijs developpend a mixed micellular formulation for the oral administration of phylloquinone to cholestatic infants. This work was later nominated for the Dr. Saal van Zwanenberg thesis award.
