Profile

Tom's work uses palynology (terrestrial and marine), sedimentology and geochemistry to reconstruct Pliocene and Quaternary palaeoenvironments, climate and basin connectivity in the Black Sea and Caspian Sea region. He is currently employed as an Early Stage Researcher as part of an EU funded Horizon 2020 Innovative Training Network entitled "PRIDE: Pontocaspian Biodiversity Rise and Demise".

Tom has a background in geoarchaeology and palynology including several years applying his skills to commercial settings as part of the heritage management aspects of the mining and construction industries in the UK and Australia.
