In the Regio Foodvalley project our department and colleagues from Wageningen aim to study the effects of circular feed concepts on animal health and welfare.

Transmission and control of Hepatitis E virus on pig farms.

A 4 year project has started in 2019 which will focus on risk identification, transmission and control of Hepatitis E virus on pig farms.The consortium consists of four knowledge institutes and 8 private partners and the Dutch government. The project is a so called public private partnership (PPS) within 1H4Food.

Tijs is the scientific coordinator, in conjunction with WBVR (Wim van der Poel) and currently he supervises one PhD student in this project.

Cross border research project into antibiotic resistance in humans and livestock (I-4-1-Health).

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine participates in Work Package 5, together with Ghent University and the Experimental Poultry Research Centre, from Belgium).

Tijs coordinates work within WP5 and supervises a project manager as well as several students.
