Stefan Vukojevic is a PhD candidate and lecturer at Utrecht University School of Economics (USE). He comes from Belgrade, Serbia where he finished a bachelor in economics. As a recipient of Utrecht Excellence Scholarship, he completed the research master Multidisciplinary Economics at USE. Taking advantage of the multidisciplinarity and flexibility of the program, he focused his studies on economic policy, education, and health economics. Prior to his current appointment, Stefan was employed as a junior lecturer at the same department.

Stefan's three main passions are teaching, research, and debating.

Teaching

During his time as a master student, Stefan worked as a student/teaching assistant. He taught two bachelor courses: Microeconomics, Institutions and Welfare (ECB1MI) and Macroeconomics: A European Perspective (ECB1MACR). Afterward, he started working as a junior lecturer at his alma mater. During his academic career, Stefan taught a variety of courses (see Teaching tab). In the academic year 2021-22, Stefan was nominated by ECU'92 (the study association for USE students) for the Teacher Talent Award. Since starting with the PhD in September 2022, Stefan is responsible mainly for teaching mathematics courses.

Research

Since September 2022, Stefan has been doing research and has been on track to receive his doctorate. His research interest is in inequality of opportunity, specifically in education. Currently, he has no publications but he is working hard on changing that.

Debating

Debating has been Stefan's great interest since his bachelor days. It taught him how to argue his points of view and helped him develop critical thinking. He started debating at the end of 2014 as a member of Open Communication (Serbian debating association). After a year, he became a debate trainer and he was elected as the President of the Executive Board. He remained the president until he started his master in the Netherlands. When he came to the Netherlands, Stefan became a member of the Utrecht Debating Society (UDS). During the academic years 2018-19 and 2019-20, he was a member of the Financial Committee where he supervised the spending of the board.
