Saro Lozano Parra is assistant professor citizenship and education at the department of History and Art History. His research focuses on citizenship education, conflict, and teaching sensitive topics. How to handle friction in the classroom? What does it mean to teach in a diverse society, where difference and plurality is part of living together? In his research, Lozano Parra shifts between philosophical, fundamental research, and empirical, qualitative analysis. The overarching aim of his research is to better understand what we are talking about when we refer to citizenship education, and teaching sensitive topics, and how to prepare teachers to face these challenges in their educational practice.
