Steven James Mandley is a PhD candidate within the Energy & Resources group at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development. Additional functions include;

Guest researcher at PBL (Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency).

The principle focus of Steven's research pertains to the development of the bio-energy market in the EU region towards 2050. As part of the Project 'Impact Assessment of the Bio-based Economy' (IamBBE), both environmental & economic performances are modelled and analysed to feed into policy implications.

Previous research projects include conducting Ex-ante Life cycle Assessment's for a series of innovative bio-based & construction related products for EU commissioned research projects.

Before joining the institute previous positions centred around a background in Environmental management for large infrastructure projects including the London 2012 Olympic Park.
