Samuel Briones is a PhD candidate in the ERC-funded CAPABLE project exploring the impact of work-life balance policies in Europe in men and women from a capability approach perspective. Samuel holds a BSc in Social Anthropology from the University of Chile and an MSc in Population Studies from the University of Groningen. His past research work has focused on intergenerational care and the social construction of old age from a qualitative perspective. In his PhD, Samuel is interested in the social support and policy resources that informal carers use to combine providing care while participating in paid employment, in ways that are considered valuable to them.
