PhD candidate working on the COSMO-MASTER project, that critically reflects on the dichotomy between spacetime and matter in modern cosmology.

Research interests

My research is focused on the philosophy of cosmology, astronomy, spacetime and gravity. I am particularly interested in black holes. I have worked on the question of what it means that black holes have mass, and what implications possible answers can have on whether black hole spacetimes are spacetimes, a form of matter, neither, or both. I am also interested in the use and implications of idealizations and modelling in the context of black hole physics, and in the role of topological theorems (such as singularity theorems) in general relativity.

Previously, I have worked on the philosophy of supersymmetry and (non-perturbative) quantum field theory.

I am also a member of the ngEHT's governance task force.
