I am a senior researcher in the RadiUnce project led by Prof. Vis. In this project, I conduct survey experiments and interviews with politicians in different countries to study how they deal with uncertainty and risks. Before joining the RadiUnce project, I received my PhD in Political Communication from the University of Amsterdam in 2017, focusing on the effect of opinion polls in election campaigns. I then worked as a postdoc and assistant professor at VU Amsterdam, where I studied biases in political decision-making. After that, I spent several years as a methodologist at the Dutch Public Broadcasting Organization (NPO), working on large-scale studies of media consumption.

For the past two years, I have returned to academia as a postdoc in Computational Communication in the TWON project at the University of Amsterdam, where I have specialized in automated methods for text analysis, in particular generative AI. The TWON project, led by Prof. Trilling (VU), is an international consortium building a social media simulator based on generative AI to measure the effects of algorithms on the quality of public debate. In addition, I am affiliated with the European research network COST Action Opinion, where researchers exchange knowledge on how to best measure opinions in texts automatically.
