In the role of assistant professor and diplomate ECVS at the department of Clinical Sciences of Companion Animals dr. van Nimwegen is involved in training of ECVS residents and education development and teaching of Master students of Veterinary Medicine of Companion Animals. Dr. van Nimwegen also developed the companion animal surgery skillslab and represents the department of Companion Animal Health in the Commission of Educational Environment of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. van Nimwegen is coordinator of external education of the master curiculum of the department of Companion Animals Health, Clinical Sciences.
