Sophie Harleman is working as an Assistant Professor for both the Montaigne Centre for Rule of Law and Administration of Justice and the Willem Pompe Institute for Criminal Law and Criminology. Her research focuses on the intersection of intelligence and security services and the right to privacy. In her PhD research, conducted within the chair of 'Intelligence and Law', she examined the relationship between cyber defence, national security, and fundamental rights in the intelligence domain.
In 2019, Sophie earned an LLM in Law & Technology from Tilburg University. In 2020, she graduated cum laude with an LLM in Constitutional and Administrative Law from the University of Amsterdam.
