Assistant professor
As an assistant professor at Utrecht University, Rianne continues her research on divorced families and children's psychosocial adjustment. She's interested in longitudinal research on different time scales (micro, meso, macro), meta-analyses, and multilevel models. Currently she's mainly involved in a new project on children's participation in divorce-related decisions (www.uu.nl/onderzoek/luister), together with colleagues from Pedagogy and Family law. As a teacher, she's involved in the Bachelor, Master, and Research Master programmes within the dept. of Education & Pedagogy.
Family break-up, system break-down
In 2022 Rianne obtained her PhD at Utrecht University. In her research project Rianne aimed to examine processes that explain how and under what circumstances family dynamics affect children’s psychosocial adjustment over time in recently divorced families. Based on family systems theory, multiple interrelated processes of all family subsystems and their dynamics were examined, by linking behaviours on a micro- (observations), meso- (daily diaries), and macro-timescale.
