R.Wubbolts' main interest is to study the regulation of antigen presentation via MHC class II molecules. These molecules are able to regulate adaptive immune responses and specify the reactivity as well as the type of these responses. Understanding the details of antigen presentation at a cell biological level potentially provides tools to manipulate and direct adaptive immunity.
