Robert van Vorstenbosch studies the complex relationship between exposure and (onset of) chronic disease. The tools he uses consist of the so called "Omics"platforms, especially Metabolomics, which measures the molecular changes within the body. His main focus is on developing and creating innovative data analtical approaches to enable more informative and easier understanding of this complex system. Another line of research that catches his interest is that of clinical biomarker discovery, mainly in the field of digestive health. Here, the aim is to better understand, diagnose and monitor a diverse set of diseases.
