Ryusei Sato is from Japan and obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Geology from Kyoto University, where he specialized in applying neural networks to sedimentological field data. Since October 2025, he has been working on the global delta modeling project as a PhD candidate under the supervision of Jaap Nienhuis. Specifically, his research focuses on exploring the limits of delta growth through the Holocene, taking into account recent human intervention.
