Remme Verkerk obtained a degree in econometrics and law. He obtained his PhD in the area of comparative civil procedure (Maastricht 2010). Afterwards, he practiced law as a Supreme Court litigator at Houthoff. Since 2018, he is part he holds a part time position at Utrecht University.
Remme Verkerk is an expert in the area of civil procedure and arbitration law. He is involved in empirical and multidisciplinary research in the area of civl procedure. His reaserch is focussed on the resolution of disputes in commercial cases, with a focus on the broader social and economic perspectives.
Remme Verkerk is passionate about education. He teaches civil procedure both in the bachelor and master programme of the law and economics faculty.
