''We chemists are here for this - to make mistakes and to correct ourselves, to stand the blows and hand them out. We must never feel disarmed: nature is immense and complex, but it is not impermeable to the intelligence; we must circle around it, pierce and probe it, looking for the opening or making it.''

Primo Levi, The Periodic Table, Nickel (p.75), 1984

The use of small molecules or peptides as synthetic tools to study biological processes is a rapidly evolving approach to answer relevant scientific questions. Rita, medicinal chemist by background, developed a deep passion for biology during her post-doctoral studies. Efficiently applying chemistry to biology is her main research goal.
