Regina van den Eijnden is associate professor at the Social Sciences Department, Utrecht University. She has a background in social psychology and received her PhD in 1998 at the University of Groningen. Her research focus is on gaining insight into (1) developmental processes underlying behavioral addictions (e.g. compulsive internet and smartphone use, social media use, gaming, and the use of sexual explicit internet material) and (2) media-influences on adolescents’ psychosocial and psychosexual development. Hereby, child-rearing practices, family relations and peer relations are taken into account.
