Within the Centre for Academic Teaching and Learning, Rik is the coordinator of Educational Scholarship. In this capacity he coordinates activities that contribute to an academic approach to education, including:

• Coordinator of the Higher Education Research focus area: HER meetings and HER grants.
• Organiser of the annual Utrecht Scholarship of Teaching and Learning conference.
• Secretary of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning grants. 

In addition, as a PhD student I am researching how higher education institutions can stimulate and facilitate educational scholarship of teachers.
