Prof. dr. Ronette Gehring

Ronette Gehring graduated as a veterinarian in 1996 from the Faculty of Veterinary Science at Onderstepoort and earned her MMedVet specialist degree in Veterinary Pharmacology from the University of Pretoria in 2000. She is a Diplomate of both the American College of Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology and the European College of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology.

Ronette has worked in private veterinary practice in both South Africa and the United Kingdom. Her academic career includes appointments at the University of Pretoria (1999–2001, Lecturer), North Carolina State University (2001–2006, Research Assistant Professor), and Kansas State University (2006–2017, Assistant and Associate Professor).

During her time at Kansas State University, she also served as the Mid-West Regional Director of the Food Animal Residue Avoidance Databank (FARAD).

In October 2017, Ronette joined the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Utrecht University. She has authored or co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications and several book chapters and is a frequent speaker at scientific and professional conferences.
