Dr. Richard Endörfer

Researcher
Ethiek Instituut

I am a visiting Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Ethics Institute in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Utrecht University. My research centers on questions in political philosophy and applied ethics, and focuses primarily on market failures, climate finance policy, and risk ethics.

At Utrecht University, I am participating in the Visions for the Future project, which is conducting an ethical analysis of socioeconomic systems that have been proposed as alternatives to contemporary capitalism. The project does this by comparing how and whether these alternative systems can provide solutions to pressing social problems and realize a range of normative values. My research is currently focused on the political philosophy of climate finance policy and the moral dimensions of externalities.

My Postdoctoral position is funded by the Swedish Research Council under project number Project ID 2023-06544_VR and hosted by the University of Gothenburg. I completed my PhD on financial crises and their moral dimensions in practical philosophy in 2022 at the University of Gothenburg.

My research interests include:

  • Market Failures

  • Climate Finance Policy

  • Risk Ethics

  • Economics and Philosophy

  • Contractualism
