Rogier obtained two master of science degrees (Research Master Psychology and Clinical Psychology) at the University of Amsterdam. He wrote his dissertation about social information processing in boys with aggressive behavioral problems using interactive Virtual Reality on a VICI grant awarded to Prof. B.O. de Castro.

At this moment, Rogier conducts research on the relation between parent-child-interactions and the development of children's self-regulation during infancy and toddlerhood, as part of the YOUth cohort project with Prof. Maja Dekovic, Dr. Jorg Huijding and Dr. Joyce Endendijk. 

Areas of expertise include social cognitions, aggression and delinquency, parenting, Virtual Reality.
