Reindert Dhondt is assistant professor at the Department of Languages, Literature and Communication (Hispanic Language and Culture). He currently lectures on contemporary Latin American literature and culture.

He has previously worked as a Fulbright scholar at Brown University and UCLA and is currently research fellow at KU Leuven (Belgium). His research deals with the essays of the Mexican author Carlos Fuentes, the transnational dimension of the Hispanic essay and the genre of 'narconovelas'.
