Rosi Braidotti retired formally from Utrecht University in 2022. She is still very active in writing books, giving lectures, attending policy think thanks, giving interviews to the media, and working on becoming a ‘good ancestor’. She is a honorary visiting professor at RMIT in Melbourne, Australia. And she is active for the ROSANNA Fund for Women, that she started and funded together with her partner Anneke Smelik. Throughout her work, Rosi Braidotti asserts and demonstrates the importance of combining theoretical concerns with a serious commitment to producing socially and politically relevant scholarship that contributes to making a difference in the world.

Rosi Braidotti is a philosopher, feminist, nomadic writer, and posthuman thinker. She holds Italian and Australian citizenship and lives in the Netherlands. She is Distinguished University Professor Emerita at Utrecht University and Honorary Professor at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. She is a consultant for the New Institute in Rotterdam. And a regular guest for the Italian TV talkshow Otto e Mezzo. She received the Humboldt Research Award in 2022 for her life-long contribution to scholarship in the Humanities. She is an Honorary Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities and a Member of the Academia Europaea. She was honoured with a Knighthood in the Order of the Netherlands Lion (2005). She holds Honorary Degrees from Helsinki (2007) and Linköping (2013). Among Rosi Braidotti’s long list of publications, translated in many languages, is a trilogy on the Posthuman (2013, 2019, 2022); The Posthuman Glossary (2018) and More Posthuman Glossary (2022); and The Edinburgh Companion to the New European Humanities (2024). She wrote a family history in Italian Il ricordo di un sogno (‘The memory of a dream’, 2024). Braidotti’s output also included several edited volumes. Her work has been translated in more than 25 languages and all the main books in at least three languages other than English.
Together with Anneke Smelik she started the ROSANNA Fund for Women with the goal of supporting the academic education of talented women at Utrecht University.
