Her experience and interests lie in urban development related to WASH and housing and its effect on people’s well-being, specifically in Africa and Asia. Previously she worked as a practitioner in the field of sanitation, hygiene and waste management for a Dutch non-profit. Ranna has hands-on experience in WASH in Ghana and Kenya and researched WASH-related problems through secondary data on India, Tanzania, and Uganda. She has collaborated with various stakeholders, such as non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), financial institutions, water utilities, local governments, and donor agencies. Her drive for research stems from its ability to improve decision-making for the betterment of the lives of vulnerable people in marginalized communities. She strongly advocates for evidence-based approaches, grounded in reliable data.
