Philip Corsius is a lecturer in Media Studies, with storytelling as his major concern. This area of expertise is the throughline through his work.
Corsius' Master's thesis, written at Utrecht University, deals with transmedia storytelling in Raveleijn, a theme park attraction created by Efteling and author Paul van Loon.
Upon becoming a Master, Corsius took up work lecturing at Fontys Academy for Creative Industries. There, he taught Storytelling courses in multiple study programs, alongside other topics, inluding Applied Research. In addition, he was an internship and thesis coach. Corsius was one of the regular lecturers at the Transmedia Storytelling Lab, a platform enabling students to gain knowledge and flex their creative muscles in both a Minor program and in an Advanced Course. Later, he has done similar work within the Creative Business study at Inholland, where Corsius was also module leader of the Minor Film and learning director of the Sustainable Media Lab.
Now, too, at Utrecht University, Philip Corsius is involved in multiple courses concerning storytelling, film and other media. He is the course coordinator of the Workshop Interactive Storytelling, which lets students produce their own interactive stories in their medium of choice.
In addition to being a lecturer, Corsius is a writer and speaker at his own company, Story Supplies. From there, he provides guest lectures and workshops, and writes and edits scripts for several media.
