Ouissam Abattouy has been awarded the NWO Mosaic 2.0 grant and is a PhD candidate in the Dynamics of Youth department at Utrecht University. Abattouy examines the relationship between adolescents and their parents during the transition to adulthood. Specifically, she examines the negotiation of autonomy and relatedness, as well as the socio-cultural factors at play in immigration contexts that influence this.

Abattouy received her bachelor's degree in Journalism, her master's degree in Sociology at VU University, and her research's master degree in Migration, Ethnic Relations, and Multiculturalism at Utrecht University.
