Profile

Hoang Ngoc Giang joined Utrecht University School of Economics (U.S.E.) as Assistant Professor of Finance from 2016. His research mainly focuses on impacts of macroeconomic conditions, firm characteristics and corporate governance structure, particularly executive compensation practices, on credit risk, corporate failure and debt recovery in bankruptcy.

 

Giang holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Swiss Finance Institute and Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), a dual M.Sc. in Quantitative Economics from University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and Ca' Foscari University of Venice, and a B.Sc. in Economics from Banking Academy of Ha Noi. Apart from academic experience, Giang also had broad exposure to the financial industry, in the areas of institutional banking, venture capital, portfolio risk management and analytics.
