Naomi van de Pol (she/her) works as an assistant professor at Utrecht University, affiliated with the Willem Pompe Institute for Criminal Law and Criminology and the Utrecht Centre for Accountability and Liability Law. She researches the human rights protection of the mind and the fundamental rights involved in using neurotechnology in criminal justice to predict and prevent recidivism. 

Naomi also works as a researcher at the University of Bergen in the COMPLEX-project about the connection between mental illness and criminal responsibility. The project is funded by an ERC Consolidator Grant, and led by Professor Linda Gröning.
