Melanie van Zanten is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Jurisprudence, Constitutional and Administrative Law and connected to the Montaigne Centre for Rule of Law and Administration of Justice. 

Melanie holds a master in Constitutional and Administrative Law (cum laude) from Utrecht University. She worked on her dissertation within the Montaigne Centre for Rule of Law and Administration of Justice. The title of her dissertation is Indirect review by administrative courts of acts of general application in the light of proportionality. She has written several articles, in particular on administrative legal protection, judicial review and the proportionality principle. 

Melanie (co-)teaches several courses relating to constitutional and administrative law. She is programme co-ordinator of the master's programme Constitutional and Administrative Law.
