Research focus: Paleoclimate and clumped isotope geochemistry
Martin Ziegler is a geologist and paleoclimatologist. His research focuses on the cause and impact of climate variability through time. He leads the carbonate clumped isotope lab at the Earth Science Department. Using clumped isotope geochemistry he reconstructs Earth's past temperature on land, in the sea and underground.
His research builds for a large part on the International Ocean Discovery Programm (IODP). He is a member of the Scientific Advisory panel of ECORD and the dutch national IODP contact.
