I am assistant professor in Media Industries at Utrecht University, where I teach in the CIW and MCW bachelor's programs.
 
I finished my PhD-research in 2020 at the University of Antwerp, where my dissertation, Engaging the audience, focused on production practices in current-affairs television.
 
Currently, I am a member of the research initiative MI3 and of the research project Re-Frame: Tracing re-use of audiovisual data in journalism. In this project, we study how AI techniques, such as automatic speech recognition (ASR) play a role in journalistic practices.
