Dr. Marc van der Sluys van der Sluijs

Researcher
Gravitational and Subatomic Physics (GRASP)

I am an astrophysicist, gravitational-wave physicist and computer scientist, working as a researcher and teacher on binary evolution and the detection and data analysis of gravitational waves for Virgo, LIGO and the Einstein Telescope.  My interests are common envelopes, compact binaries, compact-binary coalescences (CBCs) of neutron stars and black holes, multi-messenger astrophysics and heavy computing.  I am based at the Institute for Gravitational and Subatomic Physics (GRASP) at the Department of Physics at Utrecht University, and at the Dutch National Institute for Nuclear and High Energy Physics (Nikhef) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
