I'm a lecturer in Language and Communication in the Departement of Languages, Literature en Communication.

I am also a researcher in the research group of Indigenous Studies at the University of Helsinki (Finland) and have external affiliations with the research unit of General Linguistics at the University of Helsinki, the Helsinki Institute of Sustainability Science (HELSUS) and the research group Functional and Cognitive Linguistics (FunC) at the University of Leuven.

Together with Hendrik De Smet, I write the language blog Inspraak (in Dutch) and I am associate editor of the Open Access journal Language under Discussion.

I am a general Board member of the Dutch Association for Applied Linguistics (Anéla).
