Mistale Taylor is a PhD Candidate at Utrecht University, where she researches extraterritoriality and data protection as part of the UNIJURIS project on unilateral jurisdiction and global values. Specifically, she is analysing the EU’s obligations to protect the fundamental right to data protection, by exercising extraterritorial jurisdiction or territorial extension of EU law, in view of limitations on exercising jurisdiction under public international law.
Mistale obtained a BA (Hons) in law and linguistics from University College Utrecht and an LLM (cum laude) in public international law from Utrecht University.
Prof. Dr. Cedric Ryngaert is supervising Mistale and Prof. Dr. John Vervaele is co-supervising her. Mistale is a member of the Utrecht Centre for Shared Regulation and Enforcement in Europe (RENFORCE).
